SDI's Website Up & Running

I was curious if Saratoga Distilleries' website was up and running, and sure enough, it was (and hopefully, still is):

www.saratogadistilleries.com

And in case you don't feel like waiting for your interwebs to take you there, it pretty much looks like this:

Yay! My design's up there, and soon, it will (hopefully) be on bottles of delicious, delicious, rare whiskeys. I should have a few things in the next couple of days because I have a few ideas. I just need some time to put them in action. Yay!

All for now.

Ecolodeon Time...Again

Wow, how time flies. My life sucks infinitely more than it did this time last year, so I've been busy. Apparently, not busy enough. But I've got a couple of things for you. Firstly, my piece for the Ecolodeon show this year. The theme is a little bit more specific this year: "Green Schemes: Planning for the Future." However, I'm sure almost anything with an environmental theme would be accepted. I chose to do a concept of a household that produces all of the energy that it needs using only sun and water:

I also recently did a logo for my cousin's boyfriend. He runs a distillery out of Saratoga.

And just for fun, a sketchbook page from when I was in school. This is appearing in an Alumni sketchbook. Details here: http://pencilmileageclub.blogspot.com/

Eco Show

Finally, an update!

I was asked to do a piece for the upcoming Eco-lodeon show at Nickelodeon, with a loose environmental theme. So I came up with this:

And here's the final:

It's acrylic and Sharpie on a 10" x 10" fiber board.

I'll post more stuff soon! I'm working on a few different projects. So soon.

Gallow Bear Done

I did this painting kinda fast and dirty, but I was really happy with it, and finally decided to scan it in. Just a disclaimer: it's way better in real life.

Nothing says, "Merry Christmas" like a blue bear with a rope around his neck. So enjoy, and have a safe and enjoyable holiday!

Gallow Bear

It's been awhile, I know. Here's a sketch I've done for my next painting. As soon as I'm settled, I'll actually get started on it. The color's not final. I'm still kicking that around. And any BG elements.

Orange Sheep

Here's another logo. I did this one this weekend. It's for Orange Sheep Photography.

New T-Shirt Design

It's not brand new, but I finally revised it, and frankly, I like it.

Logoz

I haven't finished the painting in the previous post yet, otherwise I'd post it. I got a couple of freelance logo design gigs, which has taken up quite a bit of time the past couple of weeks. But the painting is in progress. In the meantime, here are the logos:

This is the logo for a business organization company called Maximum Zen.

These are two branches of the same company, both of which do research.

Cat on a Boat in the Desert

This is the sketch for my next painting. It'll be on canvas board that's quite a bit longer than it is wide. You could probably guess that from the outline though. For this one, I might do a digital color comp to try to nail down the color scheme before I start painting. Or I might not. If I do, I'll post that too. If not, I'll just post the finished painting. It's considerably larger than this drawing implies.

Bee Complete!

Here's the finished bee. The colors don't quite look right here...they're a bit better in person. Aren't they always? And below are some pictures of me. I'm actually a bit better-looking in the photos than in person...

Props

I really like drawing props, so I thought I'd post a couple of my favorites that are in my prop portfolio. Props can be pretty simple, (ie - rock) but I like to think that style can make them cooler than one would think...

Year of the Rat

This is a character that I did for the Riverside Asian Pacific Student Programs at University of California Riverside (also known as UCR). Since the Lunar New Year and Super Tuesday occured within the same week, they wanted...well, you can see for yourself.
It appeared on their website and their myspace page.

Blue Monster

You've probably seen this before. This is a t-shirt design that I did awhile back. It's still my favorite. I think I'll wear it tomorrow.

Bee Mine

Here's the layout for my next painting. I bought a small piece of masonite (which I've never painted on before) and I needed a relatively simple composition to fit on the 6"x 6" space. I'll post the final when it's done.

Roo Village

Hello and welcome to my art blog. This is clearly my first post, but hopefully it's the first of many. Keep in mind that these images are mine and as such, are protected under copyright law. Please do not use any of them without my permission. Thanks for coming by!

I finished this painting a couple of weeks ago. It's acrylic on canvas board. I think it's part of something larger, I just haven't figured out what yet.
